Job Training

Before a chef can master his craft in the kitchen, he must learn his way around a kitchen in culinary school. In much the same way, our clients develop job-specific skills in a controlled environment, to prepare them for jobs in the community. Our Community Employment Training Program offers specialized and community-based training to clients in a variety of work environments for the purpose of developing skills for community-based employment. Current training areas may include janitorial, food service, retail, industrial packaging and laundry.

Clients participate two to five times per week for a period of 4-12 weeks, depending on the training module. Many of these training sessions are held in actual work environments in the community under the supervision of a Community Support Coach. Clients are paid minimum wage for actual work performed with the exception of janitorial training which is based upon time studies done at the completion of their first 30 days. Transportation to and from off-site trainings is provided by Clearbrook.
