Employment and Training

WHAT ARE EMPLOYMENT SERVICES?

Clearbrook is at the forefront of empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to attain maximum independence in their daily lives.

Our expansive programs are designed to facilitate community integration through independent and supervised work settings.  Under the guidance of skilled job coaches participants receive tailored training and ongoing support, fostering both skill development and workplace success.

We are dedicated to creating an inclusive landscape where individuals of all abilities can actively contribute to the community and realize their aspirations for meaningful and gainful employment.

Employment Services

For some individuals, there is a desire to work in the community independently. At Clearbrook, we empower our individuals with the skills they need to achieve the greatest level of independence in their daily lives. We help our individuals decide where they want to be and then equip them with the skills and motivation to get there. Our Independent Community Employment Services offers short-term job coaching and training for clients. Additionally, we work with employers to ensure a successful on-the-job relationship.

Our Supported Employment Program allows individuals to work in various supervised work settings within the community. Initially trained and supervised by a job coach, clients receive the on-site training and support needed to be successful at their jobs.

Job coaches assist individuals in various ways, including their orientation to the work environment and duties, integration into the employment site, job performance and expectations, appropriate work and social behaviors, safety practices, and transportation, to create a positive experience for both the individual and the employer. As needed, employers and co-workers may be educated on any modifications that must be made to ensure the client is comfortable in their job setting.

This program offers individuals an opportunity to engage in supervised work settings throughout the community.  Under the guidance of a job coach, individuals receive comprehensive training and support to ensure success in their respective jobs.  The newly established 1815 program space will empower clients to make independent choices during their non-working hours.  They can opt to participate in community outings, attend classes such as budgeting, art, and resume building, or engage in leisure activities such as puzzles, reading, gaming, and socializing with friends.
