Clearbrook serves individuals over a range of ages and disabilities. From children diagnosed with developmental delays at birth to the unique needs of seniors with disabilities and all ages in between, Clearbrook is a family.

Clearbrook is a home, a family, to over 8,000 children and adults impacted by intellectual/developmental disabilities. We support them—and their families—by providing personalized support, helping them to live their fullest lives possible.
Clearbrook provides community day programs, employment, residential care, clinical services, and children’s programs at more than 80 locations in 160 communities throughout the Chicagoland area. We are the largest provider of home-based services in the state.
We’re proud of our deep expertise that spans seven decades—allowing us to care for an array of unique needs. Clearbrook is more than a nonprofit, we are a community, a job, a way to give back, a home.
Clearbrook was founded in the mid-1950s by a group of parents from the northwest suburbs of Chicagoland who sought to address the unmet educational needs of their children with special needs. Initially, it began as a small school located in the barn of a church in Rolling Meadows. Over the past 70 years, Clearbrook has grown and evolved to meet the needs of the individuals it serves, providing care for both children and adults. Today, Clearbrook is a leader in the field of IDD support, continuously adapting to the changing needs of those it serves while maintaining a deep commitment to its mission.
Clearbrook seeks to responsibly grow and meet the needs of the community we serve. We will accomplish this by leveraging our size, reach, and expertise in providing exceptional quality care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We focus on creating opportunities for personal development and independence, helping individuals to reach their potential. We believe this will enrich the surrounding communities and the world at large.
