- Is Clearbrook a 501 (c)(3)?
Yes, Clearbrook is registered with the Department of the Treasury as a 501 (c)(3). If for some reason you require a copy of our determination letter, please call 847/385-5005.
- What percentage of your budget is allocated for administrative and fundraising costs?
Clearbrook proudly spends more than 83% of our total expenses on programs and services supporting our mission. For Fiscal Year 2004, 10% of our total income went toward administration and another 7% toward fundraising.
- Is Clearbrook licensed and/or accredited?
Yes, Clearbrook is both licensed by the State of Illinois Department of Human Services and Department of Public Health on an annual basis, as well as accredited by CARF (The Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission). In fact, Clearbrook has received a three-year accreditation by CARF for all of our programs, which is the highest available level.
- How is Clearbrook funded?
Clearbrook receives 70% of our funding from the government and fundraises for the remaining 30%. Of that, we are supported by United Way and many local townships.
- How long has Clearbrook been in existence?
Clearbrook was started in 1955 by a small group of parents responding to the special educational needs of their children.
- Does Clearbrook have a waiting list for residential services? If yes, how long is it?
Yes, there is currently a waiting list of approximately 500 individuals awaiting residential services. To find out if your family member is eligible, please call our Director of Admissions at 847/385-5018.
- How much do Clearbrook's residential services cost?
Most costs are covered by Medicaid, social security and SSI. A candidate for residency must be Medicaid eligible, or private pay is another option. Candidates can be referred to Community Alternatives Unlimited, or a similar agency, for assistance with linking them to the services they need.
