Join A Committee
If you are one of those types of people who likes to learn about an organization from the inside-out, this just might be the opportunity for you! Clearbrook is a multi-dimensional agency that relies heavily on committee members from surrounding communities to further spread our mantra and raise money for our cause. Here is a snapshot of Clearbrook’s various external-facing committees that could really benefit from your participation:
Friends of Clearbrook
Originally established in 1963 as a social network for charitable women residing in Arlington Heights, the Friends of Clearbrook has since evolved into a volunteer support group for women throughout the North and Northwest Suburbs dedicated to raising funds for our Employment Services Program. Their annual fundraiser, “A Grapevine of Friends,” is a wine tasting extravaganza that will take place on Saturday, February 23, 2013 in Schaumburg. Shining Star Ball Committee
The Shining Star Ball, celebrating its 25th year in 2013, is “the” signature event of Clearbrook. It is organized by a group of devoted women, who meet collectively six times per year to fine tune the black-tie event details, including an impressive auction and raffle drawing. Proceeds from the event benefit the Clearbrook clinic which provides 20,000 hours of therapeutic care to our clients each year. The next Shining Star Ball is scheduled for Friday, April 26, 2013 at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Chicago. Contact: Gloria Drake, 847-385-5012 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Women’s Classic Advisory Committee
When our Women’s Classic Advisory Committee was originated in 2001, the intent was to launch an annual golf outing “created by women and for women.” This has certainly become the case with an outing that not only offers 18-holes of golf for both diehard and recreational players, but a full-day of pampering activities like mimosas, massages and much, much more. The 12th Annual Clearbrook Women’s Classic will take place on June 10, 2013 at Kemper Lakes. Contact: Sarah Shaw, 847-385-5009 or email@example.com.
Associate Board of Directors
Clearbrook’s Associate Board of Directors was founded in August 2005 when, like many non-profit organizations, we were faced with the dilemma of a devoted – but aging – population of donors and volunteers. Since then, the Associate Board has been meeting on a regular basis to arise with fun, innovative ways to engage future leaders. One such effort is their annual event, which takes place every fall at the Chopping Block at the Merchandise Mart. The 2012 event will take place on Saturday, October 20, 2012. Jelly Belly® Days Committee
Our annual Jelly Belly® Days is a two-day event in May where nearly 1,000 “sweet” volunteers take to the local streets and storefronts to pass out Jelly Belly® signature jelly beans in exchange for a donation. The success of the event is directly impacted by the number of volunteers we can recruit. Help us recruit volunteers, coordinate a collection site or offer ideas on how we can grow this event.
